Harbs, a Japanese bakery, opened in Chelsea in January. We’ve been meaning to try it for months and finally made it. Mark made the walk there Sunday and picked us up a piece. One piece. Because it was $10. They put a lot of care into the packaging and presentation. It was light, it was tasty. Is it my favorite slice? No, I’m a carrot cake girl at heart. I wonder if I can’t appreciate the delicate flavors, the preparation, the ceremony (they show you the piece they are about to cut). The place was busy, though.
Maybe we need to try one more time. I’m always willing to give a dessert another try. I’ve designated this fancy cake week because we are making a trip to Lady M tomorrow afternoon…
