Yesterday was macaroon surprise day.  I have a scheduled appointment to get to Maison du Chocolat this week to sample the macaroons.  As you may have noticed, I am on a mission.  But A. made a secret trip to Financier Patisserie around the corner during lunch and brought us back a treat.  Of course, I had to sample this one, too.   I think our verdict was:  chewier, more cookie like.   But really really good.   I think my coffee one had great flavor.  I love coffee ice cream and the inside of this one reminded me of it.   If you want to follow my travels, check out Laduree, or Macaroon Cafe or Bouchon or bisousciao.
